Description
At present there are five of us working at the brewery – Luke and Stuart who assist with deliveries and the cleaning and filling of casks. In the office, there’s Julia AKA Fuzzy, who doubles as Droxford’s famous lollipop lady. She keeps all the paperwork in good order which is a good thing because this was a weakness of ours. The Bowman family is of course completed by Ray and myself.
Our beers have evolved over the years into three really popular regular brews and each month we have a 4.5% special on too.

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is big time apricot along with sour wood and very fruity notes. Flavour is very much the same, but the dominating apricots are really glueish.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Gold, bubbly off white head. Decent elderflower aroma. Really attractive in mouth, maybe a little too cabbagey, lots of vegetables on finish and more elderflower. Lacks a little condition, but for a 3.5% beer, plenty of taste. A little carbolic even.

Cask at Merton Summer Beer Festival 06-07-07. Poured standard brown colour with nice bubbly white head. Some toffee mixed with fruit perhaps a touch on the sweet side but really very nice and would be a pleasant session beer.

Cask at Merton Summer Beer Festival 06-07-07. Poured copper coloured wonderfully clear, with a nice white head and lovely aroma. What a contrast to The Grand Union Simcoe (see review) the hops were there on the nose but were presented in a very gentle wafting way, lovely floral notes. Some soft caramel flavours initially but with a nice hoppy background. What a lovely beer, the sort of beer that you need to sip slowly whilst watching little fluffy clouds float above you and the with the sun gently warming your face, ah bliss.

Cask gravity at Reading BF. Copper, clear, lasting white head. Really good, aromatic, floral, elderflower aroma. Very good. Absolutely gorgeous in fact, and the best British beer of the Saturday at Reading for me.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2007. Gold with lasting white head. Fragrant hop aroma. Litlle bit soft may, but sherberty hop is tasty. I liked it, very sessionalbe, I like the hop, some US hop maybe. Very drinkable and the barrel had just come on. Good to see Bowman coming out of the ashes of the Cheriton brewery which was always fantastic. The Quiver though is better.

Cask at Guide Dog, Southampton. Amber colour. Strong flowery lychee aroma. Medium sweet with soft mouthfeel. Some cookie malt provides the foundation for layers of aromatic lychee-like hops. Fairly light bitterness. Pacific NW meets Hampshire. Great stuff!
