Cask@GBBF2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, wooden, mildly earthy and caramelly as well. Flavour is ginger, some fruits, mild earth and some slight herbal and malty notes as well.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grassy, citrusy and light herbal. Citrusy, grassy and light bitter dry finish. Ends dry and bitter.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A golden beer with a thin yellowish head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of citrus fruits and straw, leading to a dry finish. Quite refreshing.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 2011. Pale gold lasting thin white head. Touch of ginger on the aroma I thought. Yes more gentle ginger in the mouth and ginger sting on finish. Yese decent enough and I do like the ginger

50cl bottle from the Home Brew Show, Aldershot. Amber with a rapidly fading white head; malty aroma with a hint of apple; soft textured with a malty flavour. Pleasant enough, but nothing special.

50cl bottle from the Home Brew Shop, Aldershot. Amber with a scummy white head; grassy aroma; fresh floral flavour to start with some caramel maltiness to follow; and a light grassy bitterness to finish. A well-balanced bitter.

Cask, handpump at The Cask & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 29.12.10 Pours brown with a touch of filmy off-white head. This is a little shallow and empty at first in the mouth but after a while the flavours start to flood through, it’s definatly nutty, sweet and bitter but with some old fashioned qualities that are a little hard to describe. Nice beer but up against an even better one in the Salopian Requiem. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.3

500ml Bottle - Copper coloured. Fruity and slightly roasted aroma with nuts, malt and dried fruit standing out. The taste is nicely balanced with dried fruit, caramel and roasted malt . Raisins and nuts can be detected.

50 cl bottle bought in Hartney Wintney. Well I guess you have to call the colour chestnut! - there’s a thin off-white head and some soft carbonation; the aroma is earthy with perhaps a trace of chestnut; it’s soft and smooth in the mouth with some dry malts and demarara sugar, and again a hint of nuts. This is a really smooth and drinkable brew.

(Bottle, 7 Aug 2010. Thanks to SaintMatty) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, nutty nose with notes of chestnut and dark fruit. Malty, nutty taste with chestnut, dark fruit and caramel. More than medium body, rather sweet, with a mild bitterness. The chestnut character gets a bit overwhelming after a while but it’s a tasty and nice beer.
