Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. The Roma has notes of flowery hops, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and citrusy hops, leading to a bitter finish.

16oz in the San Diego Sheraton (Quinn’s Bar) on 17th March 2014. Maybe an afternoon drinking Stone’s ruined my taste buds, but I found this rather bland. Slight haze to my golden beer, a good creamy white head sat on top and lacing clung to my glass as the beer level fell. Almost odourless, or was it so cold no aroma could assert itself? I expected so much more from this but was pleased to find some Saison type flavours and yeastiness within what was otherwise a pretty predestrian brew.

Purchased at Wally’s in Los Angeles, CA; enjoyed at my cousins place after a great day of hiking before destroying some Aloha big burgers at Jolibee. This is going to be a tough one for me, because I would say this is a better wheat beer than Gumballhead, which is one of my favorites. Appearance is a lightly cloudy golden amber with a thin white rim. Aroma is equal parts citrus, mango, and pineapple, almost juice like but not overtly sweet, great aroma. Taste is like an IPA without the bitter bite and the tropical fruit characteristics. I could drink way more of these than Gumballhead, which is kind of scary. Maybe it’s good that this isn’t available in Chicago. Definitely a brewery that I’ll keep on my radar, really really good stuff.

16 oz can a present from furiousdman. Nose is light banana, a touch of citrus and cloves. Hazy yellow with a medium, lightly lacing pale yellow head. Flavor is lightly bitter with some contrasting fruity sweetness.

16 oz can a gift from furiousdman. Looks, smells, and tastes like a West Coast IPA. Nose is pine, mango, papaya, and citrus; very fruity and resinous. Hazy orange with a medium light beige head. Flavor is bitter and fruity; IPA,all the way. So I will rate it as an amber and that will reaaly bring down it’s rating; it would have been a 4.0+ IPA. Not enough maltiness for an amber.

5.5% Can from CBB, served in a snifter. A clear soft straw gold with a thick foamy white head & a rustic spicy saison nose. Medium bodied with a dry finish. At first you get funky light barnyard spicy (pepper) notes, then some citrusy mildly bitter fruity hop flavors before the dry finish kicks in. It really makes you want to quaff your next sip. A great easy drinking beer but subtle rather than ultra-flavorful. Really nice and it’d make a great go-to beer, especially in the summer.

Can thanks to Nathan. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is tropical fruit and wheat. Medium mouthfeel with apricot and light dry finish. Very good

Got in a trade with BeerBaron666. 16 ounce can into pint glass; no canning date, but should be fairly fresh. Pours nearly pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of huge milk chocolate, fresh coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, oats, and roasted earthiness. Incredible aromas with awesome complexity and balance of coffee and dark/roast malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk chocolate, fresh coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, oats, and roasted earthiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, oats, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance, robustness, and complexity of dark/roast malt and coffee flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding coffee stout. All around awesome balance and robustness of fresh coffee and dark/roast malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
