Description
Deschutes Brewery was founded in 1988 as a brew pub in Bend, Oregon. Family and employee-owned, the brewery is known for brewing a diverse line-up of award winning beers including the popular Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale Ale, and Fresh Squeezed IPA. From the beginning, the focus has been on crafting the best beer and food using only the finest ingredients. In 2008, Deschutes opened a second pub in Portland’s Pearl District. Deschutes Brewery now ships beer to 28 states, the District of Columbia, and around the world from its main brewing facility located on the banks of the Deschutes River.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: glossy burnt yellow color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which settled down nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grapefruity to piney hops, light clean malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together for a fair bittersweet quality; finishes piney hoppy and with the malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, smooth on the tongue, nice low carb
Overall: not a bad stab at the style, I think I could give this another shot just for the heck of it.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: clear yellow color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some super subtle lace
Aroma: floral & grassy hoppiness, light clean biscuity malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas into a sweet crisp malty vibe; finishes malty
Texture: light to medium bodied, very sessionable, very smooth along the tongue
Overall: a nicely done pilsener, whether it's a German one or a Czech one but part of me thinks maybe Czech, eh, no worries either way, I'd have again.

A lot of French oak, a bit of whiskey notes. On the thin side, kinda very fruity (apples) with some acidity. Interesting.

Dark brown, french oak and apple brandy up front (no apple brandy barrel here fwiw). Jesus that’s french oak as fuck. Nothing else! Light chocolate but that’s a raw barrel note.

Aroma: some oak and sweetness, dark fruits, a bit smokey.
Taste: very fruity, some roasted malts, whiskey notes.
Overall: on the thin side for current days, but it's nicely made and pretty complex.
