Poured from 500mL bottle (bottled 10/02/2024). Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Woody whiskey forward with soft dark sugars and feint cocoa, easy drinking.

500mL bottle. Pours black with a small beige head. Whiskey barrels, roasted malts, and a touch of cocoa on the nose. Flavour has roasted malts, molasses, cocoa -- all well-integrated with the whiskey barrels. Great malts and great barrels. Fantastic.

* Disclaimer 1 -Gonna have to write this all out due to me not remembering much of my original "Obsidian Stout" review from back when I was stationed in Alaska.
This was consumed on 01/04/2025.

Appearance: black in color with a thin cap of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated inward to leave some light concave lace
Aroma: sweet woody/barrel, whiskey tones, vanilla, milk chocolate and sweet wafers
Flavor: leads with the woody/barrel and vanilla & milk chocolate sweetness then a slight peanut butter sweetness; finishes with the barrel tones and milk chocolate
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; some smoothness but also some noted barrel edge sort of dryness
Overall: glad I didn't throw in my "Obsidian Stout" review from years ago as this beer most likely is something totally different and also I have to make note - the peanut butter is extremely weak in this. Though, I'd still have this again
*Disclaimer 2 - I do wonder if I needed to have this fresher

Appearance: dark brown in color with a finger's worth of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: toasted nuts, dark chocolate, vanilla, woody/sweet barrel tones and a touch of dark fruits
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine sweet to roasty and woody edged character; finishes dry, vanilla, woody/barrel and nutty
Texture: medium bodied, great sipper; some smoothness and light dry notes
Overall: I dig this imperial brown ale. Well worthy of returning to if I could.

Appearance: dark ruby red color with two fingers of eggshell white foamy head which dissolved nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: caramel/toffee malts, vanilla, butterscotch, sweet earthiness, fruitcake and sweet cherries
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas into a nice sweet rounded quality; finishes with the cherries, that "fruitcake"-like vibe and caramel malts
Texture: medium bodied, leaning to being a sipper; some smoothness but a brisk dryness trickle to the tongue
Overall: nice Winter warmer with cherries in it. I'd have again.

Appearance: black pour and black in the glass with a quarter finger of khaki foamy head which dissolved nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate and barrel/woody scent, light coffee roast with light vanilla notes then super light peanuts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together in a fair toasty to roasty and sweet nutty to chocolatey quality; finishes toasty, chocolatey and coffee-like
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; clean smoothness and a touch of a nutty dry edge
Overall: wasn't really peanut buttery to me, more like toasted salted nuts which were super faint, still this was well brewed and I could return to this.

Appearance: black in the pour and in the glass with a quarter finger of khaki foamy lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, sweet coffee, vanilla and animal cracker-like sweetness, light oak/barrel further in the back
Flavor: melds the prior noted aromas to a fine rounded sweetness; finishes with the vanilla and sweet coffee to chocolatey tone
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper, great amount of smoothness and nothing distracting (no roasty grind or anything like that)
Overall: a very nicely done impy stout well worth coming back to.

Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a half finger of khaki foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: sweet cherries, milk chocolate, light scents of dark chocolate, vanilla and sweet wood
Flavor: leads with the sweet side then encompasses a nice roasty sidenote through the prior noted aromas; finishes sweet with the chocolate and cherries
Texture: medium bodied - maybe just a touch under, good as a sipper; good smoothness but becoming mobile to the tongue
Overall: yes, I may have had this a bit aged and so I'm not exactly sure age may have affected the body as I didn't want to say this beer is watery - it was just a step up from that.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: brassy copper color with some transparency and a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: big danky sweet oniony to earthy and hemp-like tones with piney hops, orangey hop tones and grassy hop tones; light clean malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to bittersweet and danky sweet oily quality; finishes earthy/hemp danky and piney
Texture: medium bodied, this is a sipper for sure; smooth but quite dry and somewhat oily on the tongue
Overall: good for what it but I'm not super big on the hemp/weedy-like beers or the overdone ones at least and gets close to that border.

Appearance: glossy burnt yellow to copper color and a sly transparency about it and a finger and a half of white foamy head which dissipated fairly slow to leave some light lace
Aroma: orangey hop oily toned, light tropical fruits, light pine and a touch of floral hops; light clean caramel malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine bittersweet quality; finishes floral, orangey, tropical fruity and a touch of pine
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper, light smoothness but noted oily - slick-like vibe on the tongue
Overall: nice enough DIPA as it leans with a West coast vibe to it.
