Draught @ Village Tap, Chicago IL (Sept 2025). Clear golden with a large frothy light beige head, very faint piney aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter lightly piney orange peel yasye, smooth body, long fragrant finish. Well rounded and fragrant IPA.
Sweetish, caramely malty with some pine, resin, grassy hops and earthiness, mild warming alcohol. Old skoolish.
Sweet, piney and resinous with hints of dankness, grass, caramel malt, booze and floral hoppiness. Easy drinking but a bit heavy

12oz bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. The nose is quite rich with notes of bourbon barrels, deep roast, espresso, and black liquorice. Flavour is even more rich and complex with a deep, dry roasted malt character, lots of bourbon barrels, gentle char, black liquorice. The finish is fairly dry with a gentle boozy heat. Excellent depth and complexity, this is fantastic.

Can (8/30/25) shared by Matt. Clear, pale yellow, nice head with good retention, light lacing. Aroma is subtle pale malt, grain, earthy element--a bit glue-like. Taste is corn and a cross between cheap champagne and Budweiser. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, crisp finish as taste. An easily crushable brew--pretty subtle and on the macro side. Love the sentiment to use Kernza but wish they had done more with it.

Pours mahogany tinged black into an English pint. Mocha head with good retention recedes leaving gloppy sheets. Milk chocolate and licorice aromas. Crisp with tart pit fruit, sourdough pumpernickel, licorice and anise front to back. Lasting dark chocolate and espresso finish.

Imperial pint can. Dank pineapple aroma with notes of mango, papaya, grapefruit, floral and pine resiny hops. Pours hazy golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and good lacing. Starts with juicy pineapple, papaya and floral hop flavors. Finishes dry but still smooth with mango, grapefruit and pine resiny hop flavors. Pretty good hazy.

Bottled 6/10/25, drunk 11/23/25, as pictured.
Gettin a nice tequila nose with lots of bread and chocolate beside it. Really spicy, rich, malty, chocolatey. Wow, what doesn't this have?
No booze. Soft, rich, malty, comforting but with a good tequila spiciness and even a bit of smoke. Chocolate for days with bread and cacao lingering. They got the perfect amount of barrel here.

Pours black with a lingering tan head. Smells of chocolate, oranges, roast malt. Taste is on the sweet side. Chocolate, roast malt, orange, a little tequila, and booze. Full bodied. Very tasty.

Bottle [2016] at home shared with Laura. Opaque jet black color with a full sized medium dark brown colored head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, brandy, dark malts roast. Flavor is malts, dark malts, roast, brandy, dark malts bitter lingering in the finish. Very pleasant even at nearly 10 years old. Awesome!
