I have a 19.2 oz can picked up our of the singles cooler at the most visited HEB supermarket in town. Stamp on bottom of can says Pkg on 06/17/25. Honestly, I am more of a West Coast style fan than the juicy but sometimes I get a pleasant surprise. I have a globe glass in place, tab is lifted and the pour is made. The appearance is an amber-orange body finished by a slim but steady skim of pure white foam. The scent covers a lot of territory. Juice, mango perhaps, straw and a small presence of hops. The taste is, well, it is okay. Oranges, guava, hay, white bread and a touch of grapefruit bitterness. I'll finish the can but doubt I will purchase again.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a large dark tan head. Aroma of tequila, citrus and chocolate. Med plus body. Flavor is tequila, chocolate, orange and more. Malt is hard to describe, but it's there. Not dry. Somewhat bitter. Very different porter IMHO. Dark fruit lurks in the background. Amazing complexity and flavor.

Capped 500 from Tavour. Pours dark brown with a tan head that did strange things. Aroma of nuts, brandy and more. Med body. A little sweet and barely bitter. Flavor of brandy with malt, bourbon and nuts following along. Some oak and raisin/date as well. Very smooth. Quite tasty.

Aroma is our slightly old resin, malt, a bit of citrus and taffy. Flavors are similar to nose and bittersweet. Okay body and carbonation. Not much sign of alcohol.

Buy the bottle. See the slight haze on a pale eye. Smell a slight dull lemon aroma. Taste some lemon peel. Feel a little processed cheap beer sensation. Feel a plate of some good carbonation. Notice a more than average alky appearance, more than 5% would indicate. Think the middle increases the lemon peel impact. Finish with a not so tart impact wack.

Taster showing pitch black with sparse latte colored foam.

The nose shows moderately intense notes of sweet molasses.

The palate is full bodied and lightly carbonated. A hint of sweetness with moderate notes of licorice and molasses. Mild espresso bitterness on the finish.

19.2 oz can from Albertsons. Foggy golden pour, small but sturdy white fluffy head, spotty lacing. Light fruity citrusy aroma, pineapple. Taste kicks into gear with zesty pineapple flavors (short-lived), citrus and a little warmth.

Bobmber bottle from trade. Pours black but with brown edging. Thins but persistent layer of tan foam. Smell actually brings up some oak and other wood. Big alcohol smell. Taste brings up, at different time, some dry red wine, and then a bit of licorice. End result is a bit sharp, but like everything else here, it's done in, not moderation, perhaps, but in symphony.

Bomber, 2012 vintage. Rich dark fruit aroma with notes of dates, figs, dark chocolate, roasted malt, licorice, vanilla, oak and bourbon. Pours deep brown with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention and lacing. Starts with rich dark fruit (date and fig), roasted malt, licorice and oak flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with dark chocolate, vanilla and bourbon flavors. Excellent even after 13 years.
