Description
Barrier Brewing Co. is the collaborative effort of brewers Evan Klein and Craig Frymark, located in Oceanside, NY. Brewing their first batches on a 1bbl system (2 kegs at a time!) in June 2010, the two expanded the business to a 5bbl brewhouse in June 2012 which operated for four short months before being severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy. After several months of rebuilding, Barrier reopened in late-February 2013. The brewery currently produces nearly 50 different beers throughout the year totaling 1500bbl annually, all of which is self-distributed throughout the NY metro area.

Niitro at ginger man. Thick golden color with a beauty of a nitro head. Aroma is all clean wonder bread to the maxxxxx. Fake supermarket just wafting off this beer, cool and fun. Flavor is all grainy like bread but light. Andy says it tastes just like wheat bread to him. Perfect execution of cream ale. Not the funniest style but a good time every once in a while.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is pale malt, sugar, corn. Taste is somewhat sweet. Very low hops. Slightly corny and fruity. Very well-balanced. Easy drinking and easy sessioned. Me like.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is bread, pale malt, and some light hops. Beer is rather crisp. Light malt. Light amount of bitterness. Modicum of kolschy fruitiness. A light and refreshing beer, but very well crafted.

Tap at the Ginger Man, NYC, 23/11/13. Clear golden amber with a moderate off white head that clears to a covering/pond. Nose is pumpkin pie, spice, sweet fruit notes, toffee. Taste comprises earthy fruits, pumpkin bite, spice, metallic tang, sugars. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, a little overcooked. Decent enough for style.
