Gravity dispense at Ascot Racecourse Beer Festival 2012 - 06/10/12. Clear golden amber with a thin white head. Caramel malts on the nose, light tropical fruit, orange, hops, floral tones. Taste comprises light fruit tones, caramel, toasted malt, orange, light floral flavour. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a bitter finish. Decent cask single hop.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 28/09/12. Slightly hazed reddish brown with a medium off-white head. Sweet caramel malts dominate the nose with pine, hops, sweet sugar, grapefruit and other tropical fruit tones. Taste follows nose, really get the caramel malt, summer fruits, hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Decent.

Gravity dispense at the 1st Runnymede Beer Festival - 08/09/12. Light golden with a thin off-white head. Floral hops on the nose and a smearing of orange marmalade allied to some sour tones, grapefruit and a little caramel. Bitter orange taste, toffee, more of that orange marmaladeness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a dry finish.

Gravity dispense at the 1st Runnymede Beer Festival - 08/09/12. Dark chestnut brown resembling still cola in appearance. A thin off-white head soon thins to nothing. Toffee, caramel, licquorice and a little roast malts on the nose. Tastes of roasted malts, chocolate and nuts. Medium bodied with very little carbonation lending to a bitter dry finish.

Tastes of dark roasted malts, toffee, bitter chocolate, nuts and licquorice. Medium bodied with a roasted finish. Good full flavoured stout!

Cask at the 12th Egham Beer Festival - 16/08/12. Rich black with a small to medium coffee head. Aniseed greets you on the nose allied to dark chocolate and sweet roasted malts. Taste follows nose pretty much bang on. Medium bodied, sweetish spicey finish, smooth and silky on the throat.

Cask at the 12th Egham Beer Festival - 16/08/12. Very dark brown approaching black with a thinnish coffee head. Licqoiruce, aniseed, dark roasted malts on the nose. Sweet malt, burnt sugar and pepper finally hits you in the taste. Medium bodied, well balanced, a spicy pepper finish greats/meets the throat! I also got a little banana in the aftertaste!

Cask at Egham August 2012 ... Deep black ... creamy tan head ... licorice and aniseed ... lots of aniseed ... so much so i assumed this was the Star Anise badly labelled ... Deep roast soft malts ... rich malts ... again aniseed... light peppery finish ... soft toffee malt roast... WOW after the star anise version its clear this is the Black Pepper one, and the pepper shows through much more
