I find it hard to rate a cider because I’m generally not a fan of the style. I found this one quite drinkable, though I had hoped for more pronounced cask flavours. For now, this rating will have to do.

A clear pale golden yellow colour, small white head. Aroma of mid sweet dry and tart apples. Taste of sour apples, dry juicy, a bit watery, easy to drink.

BIAB from Half Moon, Darlington. Red amber colour, thin bubbly head and aroma of mulling spices, fruits, syrup. Taste is sweet, fruit cordial, apple core, slight mulled notes, sugar, syrupy, with some berry notes and alittle tartness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, very sweet finish. OK.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo. Cheers! Aroma of white wine, sugar, green apples and strong alcohol. Sweet apple and the whiskey comes through on the taste. Very well done.

Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Clear pale gold with some fizzy white foam. Aroma of sweet apple, skins, pear drops, white sugars; a bit basic. Taste of tangy apple, dry skins, icing sugar, a light bitterness to balance; ok. Light to medium bodied, oily but avoids that syrupiness that some poor ciders have. A bit average but its fine.

500ml bottle and my first Scottish cider. Pale clear gold pour with a tangy apple peal aroma, some booze. Tangy apple complimented by more subtle barnyard woody notes, a hint of booze, semi-dry. Quite smooth with nice moderate level of soft fizz. Enjoyable.
