Description
At Brains we are proud to be Welsh & proud that we remain family owned.
Brains beers were brewed in the Old Brewery on St Mary Street from 1882 right up to 1999 when operating from such a tight city-centre site became unviable. Fortunately, the Cardiff Brewery behind Cardiff Central station was up for sale and Brains production moved to a new home. However exciting new redevelopments in the centre of the city have led to a further move and the building of the brand new state of the art Dragon Brewery in Cardiff Bay which was opened in March 2019.

Bottle from Home Bargains. Clear amber with nicely formed off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, grass, moderate sweetness. It has quite a moreish sweet toffee, malt, burnt bread crust with a slight herbal and grassy hop finish. Decent bitter.

Hand-pulled half-pint in Loggerheads on 7th November 2024. Only had this because it was 'on offer' and cheaper than anything else, didn't realise I hadn't rated it before! Anyway it was a clean golden pour with a decent white affair on top. Malt forward and slightly sweet, light hop bitterness, all a bit subtle and bland really.
