Description
First brewed in Spring 2010 as the Wheatsheaf Inn based at Wheatsheaf Inn, High Street, Llantrisant, Pontyclun. It was originally owned by Celt Experience. In 2011 it brewed for a short time using the name Korev, before settling on the current name in Spring 2012 when it separated from Celt Experience. It moved to its current address in Spring 2013 where an 11BBL plant was used. Experimental beers are produced under the Hopcraft banner. Brewing ceased in early 2019.

500ml bottle from Stori Beer & Wine, Bala. Pours black with minimal bubbly head, almost completely flat sadly. Rotten leafy veg aroma. Taste is slightly watery with deflated roast in a ’left-on-the-windowsill-overnight’ kinda way. Sorry something really didn’t go right with the bottling. Drain-pour.

2015 version at the Hop Bunker, Cardiff, 17/9/2015. Golden in colour with a frothy, off-white, head. Aromas of pineapple and mango with a touch of grassy hop. Flavour was sweet, with more sticky fruit and a hint of caramel, leading to a dryish finish. Fine.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with a bubbly tan head, aroma a hint of chocolate with some roast, taste plain chocolate, with some sweet malts, has some nesquik action, quite nice.

Cask. Rutland Arms, Sheffield. Big fat pint full, because Ruddy doesn’t do halves. Cloudy, yellow gold. Thin, dense, lasting, white head. Lots of pithy lemon and orange. Some mineral. Taste is mostly bitter, with a little citric sweetness. Smooth palate. Finishes tangy, mineral, citric bitter.

Bottle from Beer Moth, Manchester. It pours cloudy deep red with a small beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, jammy, Victoria sponge, blood orange, piney resin, earth and red grapefruit. The taste is bitter bite upfront, blood orange, red grapefruit, red grape, earth, pine, wood, resin, pepper and mild astringency with a lingering dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Tasty and rather quaffable. Enjoyable.

Cask @ Baum, Rochdale. Golden-yellow with a small creamy head. Light textured but very stated with its citrus fruitiness. Lots of nose and a very palatable quick citric bitterness.
