Description
Established in 2010, Revolutions is a music-inspired micro brewery producing a range of cask ales of all styles from pale ales through to stouts and porters. Home to the multi award-winning Swoon Chocolate Fudge Milk Stout. The brewery also holds beer from other breweries from Yorkshire and further afield and currently sources beer for many beer festivals across the UK.

Brewing ceased in March 2023.

Gravity dispense at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 03/04/14. Black with a moderate light tan covering that thins to edgework, Nose is light roast, cocoa powder, toffee fudge, tangy dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises a splash of coffee, light roastings, dark fruit pangs. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, roasty coffee grinds in the close. Ok coffee porter but plenty better out there!

Cask @ Brewery Tap, Leeds. Black with a creamy off-white frothy head. Light textured, some nut amongst the roasted malt taste, less so in the roasted malt aroma.

Cask at Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, chestnut brown. Bubbly, lasting, tan head. Dark fruit. Dark, roast malt. Light coffee. Taste is sweet on the lips, then ashy dry. Light, dry palate. Nice finish of sugary espresso, first off, then a fruity, dry, bitter linger.

Gravity dispense at Craft 100, CBC Clapham, 03/04/14. Very lightly hazed golden orange with a moderate off white swirl and edgework. Nose is juicy hoppage, bitter orange, light mango, spice, pepper, red grapefruit. Taste comprises orange pith, light herbal presence, grassy tones, light grapefruit. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close laced with light hop bitterness. Ok IPA.

Cask at the Euston Tap - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose holds well-roasted malts, a bit of dark malt tang, subtle coffee. Medium sweet flavor with further roast character, mild lacto tang, cocoa, light ground coffee, some burn toast and dark fruits. Medium bodied with fine, smoothing carbonation. A bit more coffee edge in the finish with moderate burnt earth bitterness, darkened sugars, bread, milk chocolate. Pretty decent.

Cask at Euston tap. Hazed light amber orange coloured pour with a dense lasting white head. Lace. Aroma is suptle mineral, twigs, apple turnover, caramel. Flavour is caramel malts, toffee apple with lingering burnt sugars. Rough woodyness in the finish. Palate is medium bodied, decent condition.

(Cask at Craft Clapham, London, 12 Apr 2014) Golden yellow colour with brief, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of tropical fruit, honey, citrus and grassy hops. Malty, fruity taste with tropical fruit, honey, citrus, a soft malt character and a generous grassy/resiny bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and quite well balanced for its strength. Nice one.

Cask at The Craven Arms; clear golden yellow pour with a white head, citrus aroma, taste has zesty citrus and some floral action, light bitterness.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 11 Apr 2014) Black colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, black rye bread and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, liquorice and a generous coffee bitterness. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Solid and well made porter, with a generous coffee character. Very nice.

Cask @ Stubbing Wharf, Hebden Bridge. Yellow-blonde in colour with a thin head. Citrus hopped with a small sourness in the palate and a mild fruitiness.
