On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - opaque black with a nice crema head. Nose - dark chocolate and cream. Taste - creamy dark chocolate again. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - just lacking a little sweetness in the end but a good beer. It should probably be grouped in the dry stout style.

Cask at the NWAF, Derby ’14. Dark reddish-brown pour with a beige head. Earthy, chocolatey aroma. Flavours of licorice and quite a heavy malt presence. Malty finish. Not bad.

Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is pretty weak, with some biscuity malts and piney, grassy hops. The flavor has a bitterness that is fine, but there’s also some biscuity and grainy notes, and citrus zest. Medium body, soft carbonation, pretty dry. Bitter, citrusy finish. Nothing wrong with this one, but it’s pretty boring. Quenching though. 140228

Dull med brown. No head, looks like crap. Fudgey and quite coffeeish aroma is very expressive. Sort of dry, maybe even a bit harsh. Still, there’s some decent malt complexity and even a dash of British acidity.

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Fin&Loz&Isobel. Thanks a lot! Delt med Rune under sesjon i H9 8 Mai 13. Ekstremt dyprød. Egentlig svart. Høyt mokkafarget skum som varer. Pene filigranser på glasset. Veldig god aroma av røstet malt med tilløp til kaffe. Smaken er veldig mild. Lett røstet.
