Bottle from Blacker Hall Farm Shop. Almost black. Instant coffee coloured head. Lots of tart, peppery, green coffee. Back of the mouth bitterness. Would have liked some sweetness in there. A bit one dimensional.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%. Brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and ripe berries. The flavour is malty with notes of caramel and brown bread, but is not too sweet. Hints of berries. Decent English hops in the finish. Very good beer.

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff sep-13: en typeriktig bitter både av utseende og smak,, men i sterkeste laget for tradisjonell pøsebruk. Meget god, elegant men ukomplisert. Ny flaske på samme evenement jan-15: en saftig og god bitter er konklusjonen.

Cask ale as John & Yoko Lovers Series 2, half pint at the Blue Blazer. Fragile white layer to a unclear dark golden body. Fruit bitter nose, half-dry. Mid-sweet malty flavour mixed with lemony hops and dried fruits. Jam-like. Bittersweet finish. Mealy on the swallow. Pretty good, but quite heavy to drink (Edinburgh 11.08.2013).
