Not very tart. Looks like pale red wine with a small fizzy head. Light berry aroma, taste is also light. Dry finish. Forgettable

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours really dark ruddy copper (very strong light) with a slight tan head. Aromas of pine, darker malt and perhaps nuts. Med body. Flavor is sharply pine, followed by nut and a little touch of chocolate. And smooth darker malt. Pretty much hoppy and more dry than not. Arguably one of the "better" brown ales.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and crispy. Light malts, touch of toffee. Hops are spicy orange and orange marmalade. Light floralness. Finishes smooth and dry. Spicy linger. Good stuff.

Bottle pour. Pours a really dark red with a malty aroma, with a little booze, and some nice hops to it as well. Sweet caramel flavor. Alcohol pretty obvious. Nice, slightly bitter hop flavor finish here. Decent beer here. Really like the various hop flavors throughout this one. Will drink again for sure.

Cloudy, has a fruity hop nose, bitter, and with a pithy grapefruit finish...funny not getting Australian hops on this.

12oz bottle. Hazy unfiltered bright orange-yellow body. Steady off-white head. I get a pinch of apricot in the otherwise mild aroma, and I am definitely searching. Don’t believe I’ve ever had a beer with Ella hops. A pretty interesting beer, certainly has a unique touch. Apricot, some orange zest, and some steady pine in the backdrop. Grew on me the more I sipped it, this is a pretty solid beer for 7.49 a sixpack. Could be a little more assertive, but well done.

Sampled @ GBBF day 3. Lightly unclear copper orange color, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, lots of hops, quite fruity, nicely bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Decent.

Cask gravity at the 2014 GBBF. Clear clean copper with a lasting loose white head. Aroma is big caramel sticky sweet, hops are subdued by all the caramel. Hops are resin and pine. Some hot alcohol. And rubber. Flavour is caramel, harsh bitterness and hot alcohol, some marmalade orange peel. Medium sweet palate with lowish carbonation. Pretty poor.

Cask - Grapefruit and caramel. Cloudy copper with no head. Nice bitterness and caramel with some orange. Bitterness lingers and gets a bit harsh.
