Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

From Jul 2007

Purchased as part of a mixed 6 Pack at Wilbur's in Ft Collins.

It pours from 12oz bottle a clear light gold with not much foam to speak of and there's no lacing.

The smell is as weak as the appearance. Nothing strikes my nose with any intensity.

The taste...this is where it starts to shine a bit. I'm getting some good citrus. mainly lemon, hops up front and it has a good malt balance. The malt isn't sweet; it's more of an earthiness but it does well in balancing the hop presence. Mind you, this isn't a beer with the flavour of the ages but it's quite quaffable. The body is on the light side and it's lightly carbonated but it's a good one to turn to for a hot summer day. It's worthy of a try or 2.

From Oct 2005

This IPA pours a lovely clear gold until the smidgeon of yeast at the bottom of the bottle hits the glass and produces a cloudy gold. Yum...I love bottle conditioned ales.
The head is quite massive at first but settles into a nice 1/4" layer around the glass.

Smell is citrusy and promising.

Taste is a nice harmonic balance between the hops and the malt that lingers in the aftertaste. Superb IPA *and* it didn't take a high abv to make it so! Only thing is, I can only get this one when I make trips to Colorado or order it on line. --- Beer merged from original tick of India Pale Ale on 02 Nov 2012 at 18:19 - Score: 9

Bottle. Classic clear pale yellow with a fuzzy brief white head. Light pale malt aromas and flavors but a little more character and bite than your classic pale lager

Bottle from a mix box from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours light gold with a slight white head. Aroma is bready with a little floral. Not strongly bready. Med body or so. Flavor is fruity, mildly bready, and there's a Noble hop spiciness that makes this above average. Quite tasty.

650 ml bottle. Number 16 bottling, about 2 years old. Clear brownish color, fast dying head. Sweet fruity and malty with some dark dried fruit, some caramel and toffee sweetness, brown sugar, sweet malty into the finish. Standard but very well made.

12oz bottle pours with a clear gold body that supports a thin off white head. The mild aroma offers up some mineral notes, a touch of biscuit malts maybe and faint floral hops. The taste delivers a quick and growing barrage of mineral notes, bitter floral hops and a mild tart astringent hoppiness. Aside from the minerals and floral hops it’s a little soapy too. This doesn’t need to be tried again.
