Bottle. Amber with a dense cream head that lasts pretty well. Aroma is toasty and biscuity with light passionfruit and floral accents. Smooth with plenty of body - creamy with low carbonation. Fat biscuity malt with tropical fruit and some resin struggling though towards a building bitter finish. A big hearty lager.

Bottle. Almost black with a dense tan head of around 3/2", around half of it sitting stable over the top of the glass. 4+ Aroma is roasty with bread and coffee, citrus and citrus blossoms floating above. Bready but not really sweet. Some licorice. Coffee and a drying roastiness join the hops which seem spicier and have only a touch of the citrus in the aroma to them. There's enough body to carry the strong bitterness. Cracking.

Bottle. Clear amber with a dense white head that settles to a cm. 3+ Aroma of citrus, weeds, light spices, little berries, bread crust. Medium bodied. Sweeter than expected with a pleasant array of citrus flavours - mandarin, grapefruit, flesh and zest - some berries and weeds. A little pine at the slightly drying end but not much bitterness (which I thought it needed). After a time it grips a little more.

Bottle. Black. Chocolate nose. Lovely creamy mouthfeel. Warms up to classic milk stout, less sweet than most, but nicely rounded. Classy.

On tap at Tom McHugo’s. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has earthy citrus with a bit of grass and sweet grains backing. Flavor has bitter citrus with a light dankness and some sweet grains underlying.

2018 bottle. Seems surprising this name wasn't taken. Black with a small tan head that just about hangs around. Aroma of hard roast, treacle, coffee, dark chocolate, some salted licorice. Silky, low carbonation. Lots of sweetness but countered by acrid roast, coffee and a lightening bitterness. Intense but not all that heavy; alcohol not overt. Burnt notes are a little wearing after a time. Went well with youngish Brillat-Savarin.

Tap. Unclear amber with a fine white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma is grainy with oranges white pepper and a little moody funk. Soft texture with grain and some vague fruit before it dries out - only a little - with some nice spices. I would have liked a fair bit more bitterness and an even drier finish, but it's a pleasant rustic beer that goes well with their food.

Tap. Slightly hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma of honey, lemon, herbs, light biscuit. Light bodied. A little grainy too. Sweet honey at first with herbs and lemon, a moderate bitter finish. Pleasant summery quaffer.

Murky amber with a cream head. 3 Gentle orange and biscuit aroma. Lighter bodied than expected with moderate carbonation. Not entirely clean with a vagueness about the malt, but it's still refreshing. Peachy with light biscuit, citrus and a somewhat spicy bitter finish. A bit ESBish.

Bottle. Fairly hazy dull gold with an inch of white head. Gentle, moody and rustic aroma of ripe grapefruit, herbs, bread. Soft texture despite highish carbonation. Out of the vague bready and grainy body comes lychees and grapefruit. Maybe some other - barely ripe - tropical fruit. They waft about and are lovely. There are some light herbal and tangy notes as well in a finish that is just bitter enough to be a finish. [It _is_ hazy and hoppy but is it a Hazy/ New England IPA? Seems to owe as much to Coopers and Murray's Icon as anything. Anyway.] Alive and beguiling.
