Bottle. Reddish amber with an inch of near white head. Aroma is of sticky resinous hops with caramel. Powerful pine needles and spicy logs, mango, kumquats. I’m not wild about the prospect of the caramel but without it the hops would be a chainsaw. And that’s pretty much the taste too - the caramel is not a lot more than is needed to stop it from being harsh. Reminds me a bit of the old Mountain Goat IPA when it was fresh. Good but a bit sweet and "loud" for me.

From a 330ml bottle on 28/7/2016. Pours very drak brown with the barest of heads. The nose features coffee, raosted am,t and some dark chocolate. Taste wise, it’s big and bold, with strong coffee prominent, as well as dark chocolate, and some earthy, and roasty notes The palate is a touch creamy with soft carbonation. Intense and very, very good, but perhaps just shaded by the standard Wild Thing.

From a 330ml bottle on 27/7/2016. Pours the deepest brown with almost no head. The aroma is primarily chocolate and caramel, with some light roasted malt. Flavour wise, it’s big and bold, with lots of dark chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, some dark fruit and spices, finished off by some big hops. the palate is creamy and the carbonation soft. A really well balanced, cohesive and very tasty impy.

330ml bottle. Crystal clear, orangey golden to amber colour with average to huge, fluffy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Weak, citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of lemon and lemon zest, lemon drop, a touch of candied orange zest, cautious hints of tropical fruitiness find their way not until the head has gone - strangely the reawakening of the head by shaking reestablishes tart-ish, frowsty hints of curry, mustard, vinegar. Taste is bitter hoppy, minimally citrusy, hints of those curry, mustard, vinegar off-flavours interfere shortly; after that the road is free for lemon, lemon zest, lemon drop. All in all a bit mysterious...

Bottle. Very black with a cm of tan head that fades. 3+ Aroma is heavily roasted with mocha, blackberries, rum, a hint of soy sauce. Sweet with powerful roasted flavours, mocha, brooding dark berries, some salt, bitterness that takes a while to creep up. Very much Wild Thing on a good day with a little bit more coffee - lacks the orange peel of the original I guess. Coffee is prominent but doesn’t dominate. Beat my expectations.

Golden and bright, has a plasticy nose, esters but not going in any one direction. Sweet, sugar apples, candy floss, plastic, basically it has some complexity but none of the elements are actually positive.

330ml bottle at Matt’s. Aroma is hoppy, but quite rough. Same story with taste. Meh.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark blond color, clean. Some aroma of vegetables, spices and honey, very mild. Boozy and loaded with vegetable notes, unpleasant.

330mL bottle, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of perfumey notes, candied sugar, banana, Belgian yeast, and bubblegum. Flavour is messy and harsh, with banana, bubblegum and Belgian yeast. Harsh alcoholic mess on the finish. Very yeasty, incoherent and just not good overall.

Bottle shared by Countbeer. Thanks! Opaque pitch black color with a medium sized dark brown head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is malts, dark malts, chocolate. Taste malts, chocolate, cocoa, dark malts and soft roast. Medium body, silky texture, average carbonation. Nice chocolate stout.
