We brew in small batches by hand with the utmost regard not only for flavour but also for quality and consistency, using the finest British barley and a mix of both Kentish and World hops.
A bit of history: Established in 1995 as Swale brewery in Milton Regis, Sittingbourne, moved to Grafty Green, Maidstone in 2001. Sold to the ancient Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company in 2003.

Tap at the Sea Farmer’s Dive Taproom, Whitstable. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, herbal, light wet dog, hay, light grapefruit citrus, light dry pepper spice, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Draft at the Sea Farmer’s Dive Taproom, Whitstable. Poured a hazy golden straw colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, woody hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, herbal, mineral, earthy, dank, light burning, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Tap at the Sea Farmer’s Dive, Whitstable. Poured a murky light brown colour with an everlasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt and dank hops. The flavour is over moderate bitter, with a malt, big grassy, dank, piney, light citrus, light burning, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a smooth, malt, light citrus, dry pepper spice, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Plenty going on.

Cask. Hazy golden beer with a cream head. Grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and orange flavor with light tropical fruit. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Orange and grapefruit linger with light tropical fruit.

Cask at the Park Tavern,Eltham. Amber pour with a white head. Malts and hops dominate the nose. Bitterness and light fruit in the taste. Lots of bitter hops in the finish. Not bad.

Cask at the Park Tavern, Eltham. Chestnut coloured pour with a beige head. Raisin, dark fruit,toffee aroma. Taste is sultanas,toffee,dried fruit. Nice.

20/2/2020. Cask at the Chelmsford Winter Beer & Cider Festival 2020. Pours mid-brown with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, nut, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits and a soapy edge. Moderate sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Light body, watery texture, soft carbonation. I like a mild but this one’s not great.

7/12/2019. Cask at the Victoria Inn, Colchester. Pours bright gold with a lasting white head leaving good lacing. Aroma of hops, citrus, grapefruit, straw, pineapple, grass and a touch of pine. Light sweetness and medium plus bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average to soft carbonation. Increasing bitterness to finish.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers and special thanks for the ship label!]. Clear, copper-ish, dark red colour with average, thick, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Mellow malty and fruity hoppy aroma, cautious hints of milk chocolate, a nuttily touch, fruity notes of red berries. Taste is minimally toasty, mellow malty, slightly fruity hoppy, minimally dry, cautious hints of toffee and milk chocolate, a touch of red berries, minimally metallic overtones.
