The brewery originally traded as 'Dorset Piddle' then dropped the 'Dorset' in 2014.
Beers produced since 2017 do not carry 'Dorset' in the name, with one exception, the Rogue but this follows Piddle instead of preceding it.
As such beers in the Brewver database carry the name 'Dorset Piddle - ' on the beers that went out of production after the 2014 rebranding.
This wasn't the cleanest or quickest transition and there were still beers being produced in 2015/16 with Dorset on the label.
With a name like Piddle, you’d think we don’t take anything seriously. Dictionary definitions of piddle vary. Some list it only as a verb; a synonym for wasting time, as in ‘piddling about’. British dictionaries also list it as a noun, as in “I need a piddle”. It’s lucky that we don’t take anything too seriously.
But, we do – just one thing – and that’s the beer that we make and love. Our passion is blending hops, barley and malts in to create ales that bring serious pleasure, from delicate thirst-quenchers to thick, velvety stouts. A mix made in heaven – or in as in our case Piddlehinton in deepest Dorset.

Bottle at the Half Moon, Windlesham - 03/09/12. Pale golden with a thinnish white head that retained pretty well resulting in lots of lacing. Pale malt nose backed up by grain, wheat, grass and some spice. Taste matches the nose, hops come into play which to me tasted of the noble variety. Medium bodied with fairly lively carbonation, perhaps a touch too much, leading to a dry finish.

Half pint @ the Half Moon, Windlesham. Pours a hazy amber with minimal head, just a few bubbles atop. Getting malt and a little smoke in the flavours allied to a modicum of yeast and biscuit. Minimal carbonation - a little flat if anything and a very subtle bitterness in the finish. Not one to re-visit !

Half pint from cask. Pours amber with a tiny white head. Light aroma of fruit, hops and citrus. Same aspects in flavour with a little toffee, moderate bitterness and light sweetness. Light to medium bodied with very soft carbonation. (offline rating from April 2012)

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, 21.11.11 Only got to try a small amount of this but have to confess being very impressed. Looked great, good clarity, very nice looking. Decent amount of fresh ginger coming through served at a good temp’, clean, with nice clean taste but ginger adding a slight warmth. One of the better ginger beers out there. A6 A5 T7 P3 Ov13 3.4

Gravicask at the Angel mini beer festival, Kelvedon. Hazy brown beer, no real head. Light crisp palate. Nice dried fruits with a trace of toffee. Pleasant mild sourness. Semi dry finish with hop bitterness. Alright.

Cask at The King’s Head Inn, Salisbury. A red-amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is weak - what is there is of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and spices, as well as a bit of sulphur,c leading to a bitter finish. The body is light.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 12/05/2011. Deep amber with a slight white head. Sweet, caramel and berry fruit aroma. Flavour had some toffee, doughy malts and redcurrants, before a bitter finish with a touch of citrus hop. Good.

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 29/04/2011. Golden in colour with a slight white head. Citrus fruit and ginger aroma with some sweetish malts. Flavours of lemon, root ginger and biscuit malts, with a dryish finish. A decent beer with the ginger not too dominant.
