Description
NOTE:-

The brewery originally traded as 'Dorset Piddle' then dropped the 'Dorset' in 2014.

Beers produced since 2017 do not carry 'Dorset' in the name, with one exception, the Rogue but this follows Piddle instead of preceding it.

As such beers in the Brewver database carry the name 'Dorset Piddle - ' on the beers that went out of production after the 2014 rebranding.

This wasn't the cleanest or quickest transition and there were still beers being produced in 2015/16 with Dorset on the label.

With a name like Piddle, you’d think we don’t take anything seriously. Dictionary definitions of piddle vary. Some list it only as a verb; a synonym for wasting time, as in ‘piddling about’. British dictionaries also list it as a noun, as in “I need a piddle”. It’s lucky that we don’t take anything too seriously.

But, we do – just one thing – and that’s the beer that we make and love. Our passion is blending hops, barley and malts in to create ales that bring serious pleasure, from delicate thirst-quenchers to thick, velvety stouts. A mix made in heaven – or in as in our case Piddlehinton in deepest Dorset.

Bottle from Microbar, Manchester. Pale gold pour with a white head. Aromas of heather, vanilla, peach and a distinct whiff of pepper. I seemed to pick up a strong peppery flavour or that could’ve been down to the crisps I was munching whilst drinking this. Other than the peppery action there’s a splash of fruit in there too. Spicy finish....had to have been the crisps.

On gravity at the Bank, Bristol 08/08/09. Deep copper in colour with a slight white head. Aroma of biscuit malts and grassy hops. Flavour had plenty of chewy malt, a whiff of orange hops and smoething sweet in the background, before a satisfying bitter finish. A lot going on for 3.7% ABV and very drinkable.
