The brewery originally traded as 'Dorset Piddle' then dropped the 'Dorset' in 2014.
Beers produced since 2017 do not carry 'Dorset' in the name, with one exception, the Rogue but this follows Piddle instead of preceding it.
As such beers in the Brewver database carry the name 'Dorset Piddle - ' on the beers that went out of production after the 2014 rebranding.
This wasn't the cleanest or quickest transition and there were still beers being produced in 2015/16 with Dorset on the label.
With a name like Piddle, you’d think we don’t take anything seriously. Dictionary definitions of piddle vary. Some list it only as a verb; a synonym for wasting time, as in ‘piddling about’. British dictionaries also list it as a noun, as in “I need a piddle”. It’s lucky that we don’t take anything too seriously.
But, we do – just one thing – and that’s the beer that we make and love. Our passion is blending hops, barley and malts in to create ales that bring serious pleasure, from delicate thirst-quenchers to thick, velvety stouts. A mix made in heaven – or in as in our case Piddlehinton in deepest Dorset.

500ml of ’Piddle in a bottle’ as it is called in bottle form. Poured into a UK pint sleeve on 5 Apr 2013. Clear, light amber body with a thin off-white covering that turned into a wisp and collar fair to swiftly. Malty and semi-sweet in the nose and taste: caramel ruling those malt flavours, some hop bitterness arrives midway through each sip with a mild citrus finish. Mid body depth, would have liked a bit more richness, but the 4.1% ABV is fine for beer I suppose.

50cl bottle from Naked Grape, Alresford. Amber with a ring of white head; floral aroma; cidery flavour, as if made from some sweetly perfumed dessert apples; then some meadow hay giving a gentle bitterness and a dry finish with a touch of rasping alcohol. Rather unbalanced.

50cl bottle from The Naked Grape, Alresford.A headless, murky chestnut pour, looking rather liveless; aroma of chocolate malts; the taste is mainly of tart apples, then a sweet, grainy, body develops with a touch of milk chocolate; but the tart fruit dominates and carries through to the end. Not a very pleasant pint - drunk well inside it’s Best Before date (07/13), but seemingly way past its best.
