Bottle from Buchanan’s Bistro. It pours black with decent light tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malts, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, chai latte and orange peel. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, umami, festive spice and orange peel with a gently spiced finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Well balanced and rather quaffable. Well judged.

Bottle, gift from Andrew. Murky brown body with an off-white film. Faint lacing. Aroma of burnt caramel, matches, mud and toffee. Flavour of prunes, raisins, plastic, subtle spices and filter coffee. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. A sweet, interesting beer. Not sure why it had to be as strong as 7.9% ABV though.

Bottle, gift from Andrew. Black body with a beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of beef Oxo cube, blackcurrants and plastic. Flavour of tangy lime juice, cigarettes and dark chocolate with a sharp, acidic finish. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Light fizz. Hot and rough around the edges, but it’s not bad. Early days...

[9/24/15] Bottle sample at the pre-Borefts tasting at ABC Beers in Den Haag. Thanks everyone who shared bottles! Dark brown. Sourish infected aroma with olives, vinegar, roast. Sourish flavor, roasty, with some fruitiness, chocolate, and a bitterish touch. Medium-bodied.
