Poured from 650mL bottle. Mahogany brown with light tan head. Candi sugar, plum, and raisin, hint of spice. Good attempt at an abbey dubbel, but finish is a bit too metallic.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy golden blond color. The flavor is nicely spicy, with crisp malts; the mouthfeel is round, with mild residual sweetness, the aroma presents delicate fruity esters. Solid bitterness too.
Clean, well constructed.

Draft - Dark and roasty with oatmeal. Jet deep brown with a small beige head. Dark and roasty with some dark fruit and a long finish. Slick and solid.

Draft - Light malts and some grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Caramel malts and some biscuit. Touch of bitterness in the finish. This is a good English Ale, but I don’t get any hops, let alone wet hops.

Nice dark beige head and jet black body. Good aroma of coffee, licorice, soft pumpernickel. Flavour is good strong espresso, chocolate, sharp barley. Nice taste on this one and fulfilling mouthfeel. Good stuff and worth a try.

Tasting at Matt’s
Hazy amber color. Vegetable soup, tea, metallic aroma, lentils. Metallic flavor, some malt, ordinary bitterness, maybe cedar, and too much yeast.
No idea what they were looking for, but this is not that good.

Light amber. Hazy. This has a mellow orangey nose. Has a soft sweet, malty character. There is a decent bitterness, some honeyed malts, and ultimately there’s some biscuity malts, too. Not bad balance.

Bottle - Light grains and sweetness. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Sweet malty notes with a Woody dryness. OK.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, biscuity notes and some floral notes. Flavour brings out lots of Belgian yeast, some earthy notes, and a peppery quality. Not very convincing as a bire de garde, but it's okay. Meh.

Colour is amber. Aroma has a light cedary with needles, and with a fair bit of bitterness. Has a nice cedary character. So it’s pretty nice character, actually. One of the best beers Townsite has done - I’m liking the cedar character, which is dominant, but also the underlying malts.
