Dark brown pour, small white head. Musty aroma, wet paper, light fruit, some grains, a touch of rye (maybe?). Solid mouth feel, and carbonation. Finish is more sweet, fruity malts, light cereals, lightly bitter finish.

750ml from the LCBO.
Black pour, dark beige, mocha head. Big roasted malt aroma. Burnt malts, molasses, soy, burnt sugar, and some light woody vanilla. the rum appears in a slight sweet boozy aroma and flavor. the mouthfeel was thick and luscious, and the carb was soft, and perfect. the finish is big on roasty flavors. coffee, soy, and some more burnt sugars and malts. 5 years ago it would be impossible to think this was being brewed in Ontario. nice stuff.

750ml bottle from the LCBO.
Hazy amber pour small white head. Light woody aroma, soft citrus, some apples and pear. The mouth feel is a tad thin, and the carb is very soft. The cognac adds a bit in the finish as thebeer warms. There is some slight boozy sweetness. There are very light otes of oak. The barrel ageing is thin, and subtle.

750ml botle from the LCBO.
hazy dark brown pour, big white frothy head, with good lacing.
big aromas of wood, oak, vanilla, brown sugar, and mollasses. the oak minges well with the sweet oak, and mollasses, but its getting in the way of the charred malts. the malts are getting lost, and knocked back because of the intense vanilla from the barrel. the finish is almost cloying, but thins out and becomes quite enjoyable.

Gorgeous citrus aroma. Good carb, perfect mouthfeel, hazy oranger pour with a thick, sticky head. Flavour really shows the rye. The malts are prevalent and have a slight rye sweetness. A thick pithy citrus bitterness that lingers, and is wonderful. Great stuff!

on tap at Volo.
This was disapointing. Dark brown pour with next to no head.
Aroma of light roasted malts, and not much more
light mouthfeel, a tad watery. The flavor was more light malts, minerals, and some light roast. this was pretty boring, not much going on.

Cask days 2011.
This was tasty but needs some time to mellow. Sme decent fruit in the aroma, even a touch of lambic, a good amount of tart/sourness. The finish on the other hand was a little rough. Quite sour, a little too sour, astringent even. if they could clean up the harsh finish this would be pretty awesome stuff.

Volo Cask Days 2009. Interesting idea, but not sure they managed to pull it off. The aroma was very very sweet, the coke is very evident with notes of it, and some vanilla. The jack is nowhere to be found, and the barrel ageing doesnt seem to have done much all it. It was pretty much just a coke flavored ale.

OCB sampler pack.
Nice hoppy aroma, with a smooth nutty malt. Flavor is nice and hoppy, not overpowering, and the nutty malt is a great flavor to pair with the soft hops. Really a solid amber considering it was made in Ontario.
