(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Slightly hazy, amber golden with a dense, creamy, off-white head that leaves some lacework. Fresh aroma of citrus and pine. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, sweetish caramel and a dry but not overly bitter finish. A very smooth and not overly extreme Double IPA. 110108

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Pours a slightly hazy, orangey brown with a rough, bubbly, off-white head that fades rather fast. Fat aroma of caramel - burned caramel - and some yeast. Quite full-bodied with sweetish, burned caramel and lots of fruit - overripe fruit in particular. Rather warming alcohol finish. Starts rather timid but really grows on your palate. 110108

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a dense white head. Pine needles and fruity notes aroma. Flavour is fruity with a slight liqourice note. Softly balanced with a nice fruity and some sweet malt flavours. Fruity and sweet at once without being overly so. Soft finish which reveals a slight note of dryness.

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a reddish hue. Dense white head. Light spiced and light yeasty aroma. Flavour is mild malty, slight yeasty and spiced. Finish is spiced and holds a nice acidity to the sweet ad spiced flavours. Nice.

Bottle shared by BBB63. Hazy sediment-laden straw body, thick off-white head. Floral, spicy nose, light fruit, and bread. Delicate. Light, sweet body with dry, bitter indistinguishable spice. Good bite and sharp carbonation. Just a touch of white grape in the sweet malt. Avoids overbalancing the spice with heavy malts. It’s a good thing.

Bottle shared by BBB63. Fiery copper orange-red body, thick cream head. Aroma of fruits and caramel, sweet, with warming alcohol notes. Also estery, with banana, clove, and a touch of pineapple. Warming body with wispy, sharp alcohol. Dominance shared by esters, particularly clove and pepper notes, and heavy malts, with notes of dark fruit, brown sugar, and toast. Bready sweetness. Lingering spices and alcohol finish the beer. The sugary malts quickly dissipate. Despite the apparent complexity, this seemed unrefined and was too sweet for my tastes.

From a 12oz unlabeled bottle with a stamp "Double Wide IPA". Really nice big hop aroma, not as big as some DIPAs, but I like it at the level its at. Nice grapefruity citrus and fruitiness and the bready malts make a peach cobbler out of it. Flavors are lightly resined and citric. Full malts provide good bready support. This is close to my ideal for an IPA. The finish is strongly bitter but balanced by a fruitcake maltiness. Long hops in the throat and the strength is well masked, except if you drink this too fast, which I’m in the process of doing! Quite well done. Deep red color with a huge whipped meringue of a head that leaves a permanent dollop in the center of the glass.

2007 12 oz bottle from mreusch; BB 02/01/08; Nose of brown sugar, caramel, and light vanilla; lightly hazed copper with a big beige head; flavor has pepperiness, caramel, and molasses with a lightly bitter finish. Decent ale.

12 oz bottle from mreusch; nose is roasty with light mocha; clear dark cherry brown with a medium cinnamon-tan head; flavor has some light smoke, coffee, and some light hop bitterness. Decent but no way great!

750 ml from mreusch! Thanks Matt! Nose of flowey and piney hops and a little caramel; copper with a big, long-lasting, heavily glass-lacing off-white head; flavor of caramel and peachy sweetness mixed with hop bitterness. A well balanced IPA!
