Bottle, 10C. Amber with a creamy off white head that never disappears. Aroma of citrus - mandarin, fresh and grilled orange, kumquat - tropical fruit with herbal touches, bread crust. A bit more than medium bodied, very much IIPA texture despite the relatively modest ABV. Lowish carbonation. Bittersweet with a bread crust and caramelised orange sweetness first joined by sharper fruit flavours then by a gripping and gently resinous bitterness. MG have done a bunch of very different biggish IPAs since the sale and they continue to be interesting and good.

From a 640ml bottle on 7/10/2018. Pours a clear medium golden with a smallish head. yet another brew that describes itself as an imperial, despite weighing in at under 8%. The nose is pleasant enough, with a good dash of fruity hops. Flavour wise, there's a mix of caramel, biscuit and malt sweetness, with the dash of promised orange juice, and a reasonably firm hop finish. Fullish bodied with softish carbonation. Decent enough but not particularly memorable, noting the occasion.

Bottle from a clear out of the staff beer fridge at work, so thanks to whoever brought this back from their travels. It's 6 months out of date mind you, so we'll cut it a bit of slack. Initially a clear amber golden pour, with a thin white head. Nice dank resin nose, some marmalade. Taste is sweet and resinous. Nicely rounded finish.

(Bottle) Pours clear deep amber with good white head. Nice aroma - pine with floral hints. Very good mouthfeel - medium bodied with plenty of soft carbonation giving smooth texture. Good taste too. Fruity - apricots and citrus - with notes of toffee, but little sweetness, some slight alcohol notes, and plenty of hoppy bitterness. Very good.

GABS Auckland 2018. Pours black. Bourbon, so much boozy bourbon, vanilla, smoke, so much umami soy stuff, dried fruit, more booze. Big body. I love this kind of silly stout, and it's well executed. Good.
