Amber with a fleeting, foamy head. Aroma is a peach, green grape, citrus mix. Taste is less inspiring, dominated by a stale, flat bitterness with very little undertone. Finishes better, bitter and fruity. Body is light, texture watery. Mixed bag overall, but drinkable.

330ml bottle [#00704]. Quasi black colour with small, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Dark malty, BA supported aroma, hints of leather, oak, a nutty touch, whiffs of caramel, dark caramel, a touch of alcohol soaked, dried, dark fruit, very cautious ashy, smoky overtones. Taste is dark malty with mild, dry BA support, hints of leather, oak, a nutty touch, some dark caramel, dried fruit. Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and soft carbonation. Rather cautious, mild, even not much development of flavours as it warms up - expected more.
Straight peat. Medium body, definitely richer than most porters. Super smoky and woody, rich malty cocoa notes from the beer. Dry finish. Love the babby cans

330ml bottle. Black, small tan head, modest retention. Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is, light roast, coffee beans, dark chocolate, smoky, dry bitter finish. Its not overly sweet but there is just enough to balance. Moderate smooth body and soft carbonation. Lovely moreish quality to this. Good stuff.

Bottle, smallish head, clear and just a touch deep gold color, malt and hay with some herbs, mellow strong herbal shrubby bitterness. Nice and really satisfying.

Bottle, small bubbly head, clear quite deep gold color, malty wood aroma, malty and quite sweet flavor with a light to medium bitterness. Nice and clean but a bit too sweet to my liking.

Bottle at home in Hackney - cheers! Vintage 2007. Pours black-brown with a foamy, tan head. Moderately sweet with rich roast, a bit of ash, peat, baking cocoa, raisins, scorched earth, burnt toffee, very mild oxidation. Full bodied, lightly oily, with soft carbonation. Lightly warming finish, some peaty stickiness, dark chocolate, more ashy roast, earthy bitterness. Excellent.
