Description
The Birrificio Rurale was born in 2009 from the idea of five beer enthusiasts who wanted to find the agricultural origins of beer in an area with a strong rural vocation. in mid-2012 we started planning to move. At the beginning of 2013, we started production in our new brewery, after more than three years of work and gaining experience, we decided to continue on our path by moving to a place that would allow us to manage the growing demand with greater control. Definitely less romantic than the previous premises, the new headquarters in Desio is much more functional and will allow us to offer you an increasingly constant and quality product.

Tap at Birrai Eretici, in Bologna, Italy. Pours black. Aroma is toasty, licorice. Body is average, though slightly oily and sticky, with minimal carbonation. Taste is roasty bitter, with a hint of background sweetness. Final is a little chewy, fairly lasting.

Toasty, malty, sweet, bitter. Orange is barely noticeable, and it had a bit stale taste. Not sure if it’s a “feature”, or perhaps bad pipes. Despite that, I still enjoyed it.

Small snowwhite head over cold-hazed light golden beer. Spicy, bit dusty pale malts. Very dry nutty flavour, dried herbs & spices. Falling away in time but not ending empty. Bittery hoppy finish, EU hops. Light body, light carbonation, bit gristslick. Quite decent Pilsener. However, I still cannot place the 'Italian' reference. Unless chauvinism, as it would fit perfectly into German Pilsener category.
