Description
The Birrificio Rurale was born in 2009 from the idea of five beer enthusiasts who wanted to find the agricultural origins of beer in an area with a strong rural vocation. in mid-2012 we started planning to move. At the beginning of 2013, we started production in our new brewery, after more than three years of work and gaining experience, we decided to continue on our path by moving to a place that would allow us to manage the growing demand with greater control. Definitely less romantic than the previous premises, the new headquarters in Desio is much more functional and will allow us to offer you an increasingly constant and quality product.

Cask @ BQ 62, Milano.

23/04/2014 Mad For Beer (tap). Dorata paglierino, leggermente torbida, schiuma media discretamente persistente. Naso invadente e monocorde, bergamotto sparatissimo a coprire ogni cosa, nota citrica leggera. In bocca va appena meglio, ma anche qui la presenza del bergamotto è eccessiva e alla lunga stanca. Corpo leggero, carbonazione media. Sgraziata.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks Stas. Hazy yellow with a white head. Hoppy aroma with tropical fruits and pine. Flavor has some sweetish malt, fruity hops, piney and floral notes and a pleasant bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Quite nice.

This was labeled as special, though I’m not sure of bergamot. Cloudy pale yellow, loose but big head. Lots of coriander on the nose. Similar taste, a fair bit of maltiness up front and tartness at the back.

Slightly hazy brown. Med head. Aroma is orangey-fruity with some toasty brown ale notes. Sweet malts, brown sugar, some toasty character and sweet fruity Dipa-style hops. So like marmalade and brown sugar...makes sense but not my preferred balance. Decent beer, expanding the concept at the sweet end.

Dark opaque brown/dark ruby coor, small beige head. Coffeish, black malt aroma. Light-bodied. Toasted malty, tobacco-ash in the flavor. Quite weak and watery, not a suprise for 4.2% beer. No faults but not much use for this beer.

Slightly hazy pale yellow color, good creamy white head, lace. Light fruity hoppyness in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Sweetish exotic fruityness in the front, then nice hop bite in the aftertaste. Easy to drink.

Dark brown color, good brownish head. Woody hoppy, a bit toasted aroma. Medium-bodied. Grassy, piney hoppyness, toasted, slightly sweet malty base. Sweetish black ipa, but very enjoyable with good malt profile.
