Bottle shared with the Nellser in Rome - picked up at Domus Birrae. Pours clear, deep brown with a fine, creamy beige head. Burnt toast on the bose, hints of cocoa and burnt grass, maybe some dried berries. Medium sweet flavor with mild earthy bitterness, dry chocolate, dried berries and. Herries, slight roast, some dried grapefruit and orange. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Burnt toast on the finish, light earth, dried berries, mellow cocoa. Nice overall.

Keg at Bir & Fud - Rome. Pours lightly hazed gold with a large, frothy white head. Aroma holds lots of dry citrus, lemon and grapefruit mostly. Light to medium sweet flavor, nice pithy citrus, grapefrut, light spice, dry grass, dry pale malts, faint anise. Light bodied with average carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish, some dry citrus, anise, dry pale malts, light minerals, pine needles. Very drinkable APA.

Bottle at the hotel in Rome - sourced from Domus Birrae. Pours clear, dark brown with a fine beige cream head. Nose holds lots of dry roast coffee and milk chocolate. Light sweet flavor with mellow roast, some minerals, dirt, dry chocolate, mellow bitter earth.ight bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty smooth onthe finish, some dirty cocoa, mild minerals, earth, hints of baking cocoa. Very decent.

Bottle shared with Nellzer in Rome at the hotel - picked up at Domus Birrae. Pours lightly hazy yellow-gold with a frothy white head. Lots of sweet wheat on the nose, spices, lemon merengue. Medium sweet flavor, sugary white bread, wheat, some orange sponge cake and lemon merengue, a slight perfume note. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, fairly sweet, further spices, simple wheat bread, white bread, orange, light straw and citrus rind bitterness. A nice witbier overall.

27/05/2013 Bir&Fud (handpump). Nera, intensa, quasi impenetrabile, schiuma bianco sporca abbondante e incredibilmente persistente. Al naso è una stout delicata dal tocco british, tostato morbido, leggero fruttato, una punta di mela verde (acetaldeide?). In bocca è modesta, watery e un po’ priva di personalità, il tostato rimane parecchio in ombra, unica nota positiva la ottima beva. Corpo leggero, carbonazione soft. Mediocre.

Tap at Bir & Fud, Roma, 09/02/13. Light black/very dark mahogony brown in the light, with a big light tan head that retains well. Nose is hops, pine, light chocolate, mineral tones. Taste comprises pine, hops, bitter grapefruit, light mango, sugars. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, dry finish with some bitterness. Solid Black IPA.

Tap at Bir & Fud, Trastevere Roma - 04/10/12. Hazy amber blonde with a decent frothy white head which recedes in time. Hoppy nose, caramel malts, pine, grapefruit and tropical fruit tones allied to a little grass. Taste follows, hops and pine, grapefruit and mango. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, Overall a great hoppy APA, very refreshing!

Tap at Ma Che, Trastevere, Roma - 02/10/12. Clouded light blonde with a mahoosive bubbly white head. Nose comprises citrus, hops, wheat, spice, light honey tones and vanilla. Tastes of orange, sweet pineapple, a little caramel, and a hint of grass. Medium bodied with light spritzy carbonation leading to a refreshing crisp finish. Great stuff on the hot Rome day on which I drank this beer!
