GABF’08. Prefect looking Berliner Weisse with a dusty, hazy dull lifeless yellow-sh tinted color. Aroma is very musty, with very murky wheatiness and a faint lemon aspect. Very easy drinking and light with some soda-like straw flavors. Don’t sound like much but that just the right kind of Berliner Weisse. Nice stuff.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of bu11zeye. Hazy golden with a lively and very tall head that dissipates without disappearing completely. Spicy aroma with a whiff of ginger. Medium body, extremely overcarbonated with notes of yeast spice and pale malts. Very astringent and bitter finish. No real traces of the Brett. Disappointing. 230808

Bottle. Amber beer with a nice cream colored head. Spicey aroma with light citrus, and hay. Spice, lightly tart flavor with yaest, malt, and caramel. Medium body. Malt, spice, and light tartness linger. Very nice, refreshing, and well balanced. Good brett/rye combination.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a lacing white head. Mild yeasty and wheaty spiced aroma. Citric and yeasty base flavour. Smooth though and light yeasty. Nice and light bitter finish. Nice hoppy touch into the finish. Dry and bitter.

Bottle from stephanje. Pours a clear golden color with a strong, visible. carbonation. Head is strong but small, lacing sticks around for a long time. Aroma is sweet and herbal. Taste is sweet raisin with very faint (wouldn’t know it unless the bottle said so) pineapple-like brett, A nice thick mouthfeel for a Saison adds to the drinkability of the beer. flavor finishes with an herbal/green aspect. All the little parts work very well together, seems like a nice candidate for aging.
750mL bottle, Heart of Darkness thick walled tulip.

[ Used to love this - now find it a little husky and over carbonated - also a bit sweet - still decent] [original rating 3.8 - had this beer again recently, and the brett has really come through, dried this out, and added a lot of earthy complexity] Thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing - hazy copper beer with a soapy head - there is a young brett character in the aroma, but you’ve got to take a deep whiff to detect it - the aroma is more a mixture of tangerine, grain/wheat, and lavender - fairly bitter herbal flavors and what seems like pils malt - fairly tart, with very faint brett - strong herbal bitterness throughout - a little bit of phenolic character - a decent saison - I’d love to try it with a year or so on it.

750 ml bottle purchased mail order from Joey at South Bay in Imperial Beach, CA. Pour is cloudy orange amber with a giant off white head (4 inches at least). Head has huge carbonation bubbles showing, leaving behind nice lacing. Aroma is phenolic graininess, some floral notes, and rye. Taste is spicy, wheaty, slightly funky and sour. Reminded me quite a bit of Saison Dupont. Really interesting taste profile. Super nice.

Muddy beige. Minty, camphor kind of phenols on the nose. Really big yeast character. Spicy, with hints of pepper.

750ml Bottle brought from Honnigshead by Odeed; Thanks Jake! Nose of yeast, corriander, and bretty funkiness; murky rusty gold with a huge, heavy-lacing, long-lasting, offwhite head; flavor is very peppery corriander spiciness, rye breadiness, bretty funkiness and more spice; finish is lightly bitter. Awesome new bruery (brewery)! Got to go to the brewery when I am down there in a couple of weeks!
