Bruery Terreux®, which loosely translates from French to “earthy bruery”, was developed by Founder Patrick Rue as a space to focus on and explore wild and sour beer fermentation as an extension of The Bruery®.

While brewing history and tradition inform our techniques and process, creativity and experimentation propel our cellar forward to continually develop thought-provoking wild and sour beer of the highest quality.

750ml bottle. Cola brown, beige head. Nose has cherry and cranberry and balsamic. Vinous. Flavor is high acid, big barolo, barrel, raisin and cranberry. High acid and bone dry. 7 7 7 8 7

Bottle at the DC Beer August Share. Poured an oily rusty brown. Flavor was cherries, brandy, and port with a tart finish balancing residual sweetness. A rich and layered barrel-aged sour with boozy depth.

Aus der Flasche (2015 Edition) im 2025-07 getrunken. Dieses rotbraune Ale kommt deutlich im Flämisch Red-Stil daher. So findet sich eine dominate Säure am Gaumen, die von roten Kernfrüchten und Weinessig-Aroma daher. Leider ist die Säure mir hier etwas zu dominant so daß ich nicht ganz ins Jubeln bei diesen doch sehr guten Ale komme.

0.75l bottle, shared with Sima & David. Aroma is vinous, citrusy and mild funky. Pours cloudy orange color with thin creamy off-white head and fair lacing. Taste starts tart citrusy and faint woody, follows by vanilla and biscuit with smooth mouthfeel. Medium body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. Limuoncello…

Bottle shared at the June DCBeer share. Poured a clear garnet-red color. Flavor was smooth and vinous with soft red wine character. Subtle for this brewery.

Sour and heavy with acidic tartness, hints of cherries, vanilla and earthiness. Quite intense.

Lime is heavy, dragon fruit is as light as it ever is because that fruit has basically no taste. Maybe some raspberry, salt. Pours dark copper with ok head and lacing. Tart finish. Bottle at DC Beer tasting.
