Clear deep red with medium beige head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel and fruity notes. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel and mild hoppy notes. Ends somewhat bitter.

Bottle: Poured a thick motor oil black brown with a thin edge filling beige head. Aroma is sweet with licorice and coffee. Taste roasted coffee with a bitter tingle to the tip of the tongue.

50 cL bottle. Pours golden deep hazzlenutbrown with a creamy light tan head. Spiced and caramel malty aroma. Flavour is medium dry caramel malty with a tobacco spiced hops flavour following. Goes reasonably bitter after this and into the finish. Light fruity note appearing from the hops too.

50cl bottle from my Irish buddy; Garthicus! Nose of chocolate, roasted coffee, and an oatmeal cereal note; black with brown edges and a big, glass-lacing beige head; flavor is coffee, chocolate, a little white pepperiness, and a smidgeon of hop bitterness; finish is coffee and a bit of bitterness.

Brown bottle, 500 ml, purchased at the LCBO, savoured on June 17 2008; eye: black with mahogany reflections, opaque, voluminous cappuccino head that turns into a ring, lots of lacing; nose: coffee, roasted malt, light acidity, vanilla, lightly stale; mouth: thin, roasted malt, light acidity, dry finale in diluted roasted malt with a good presence of dry bitterness, lightly acrid, lightly lactic, mildly bitter, medium body, not much carbonation, light astringency; overall: so?
