Description

(33cl bottle, Den Herberg Bruin, 5.5% abv) Almost cloudy, murky amber to brown colour with a beige medium-sized and stable foamy head. Slightly yeasty, sweet toasted malty aroma with caramel, a tinge of citrus and berries, accompanied with spicy elements. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty base with caramel, restrained fruity notes and a rather tough spicy touch, getting stronger towards the pretty slim finish (21.V.09).

Bottled. A murky brown beer with a tan head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy - I pick up cinnamon and coriander, but also notes of licorice. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of fruits - starfruit, spices - anise, as well as some malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottled. A murky brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy - especially cardemomme, but also notes of handsoap and flowers. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, straw, and lots of spices - a bit too spicy for me. Thanks fonefan for sharing.

Bottle. It pours a hazy, orange body under a small, off-white head. Fruity, slightly sourish nose with grainy malts. Rather weak. It’s fruity in the mouth, slightly chalky, with pale malts and some hoppy bitterness. Medium body, quite effervescent. Short finish with fruityness and some malts. A decent beer, but not worth a revisit. (090501)
