(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as: "Den Herberg 100 Jaar Fanfare St. Vincentius". Hazy dark amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Perfumy, fruity nose. Medium body, some caramel and fruit with a distinct bitter finish. Quite lovely and very atypical Belgian. 130608

Amber-pinkish tinted head, medium, over hazy red-amber beer. Greenery, caramel, greenmalt, maltsugars. Greenery again in the taste, malty, and, again, a hunch of greenmalt, but much less sweet than the nose was suggesting. Again caramel as flavour, but not sweet. Medium bodied, bit slick. OK beer, just nowhere exciting.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a lacing off-white head. Mild spiced aroma. Flavour is mild spiced and dry malt, light off-note. Note as yeasty as the other brews. Spiced finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours murky and brown with a lacing off-white head. Spiced and light yeasty aroma. Flavour is mild yeasty, spiced and with a dry malt base. Ends light spiced. Not really capturing my interest.

Fully hazy dark amber-brown with a big cream-to-beige head, big bubbled, receding. Grainy nose, dark grains, leafy, wholemeal bread & molasses. Dry, more wholemeal (pasta), slightly spicy (like mustard seed) and some sweeteness in the palate. Bit of human sweat & leafy retronasal. Medium bodied at best, quite slick. Not very specialy, but at least without major faults - better than the other 2 Herberg ones tasted so far.

Very clear amber-copper with a small white rim. Very fruity, fresh nose with lunaria, wild fruit, fresh green cuttings; Dull-sweet taste, grainy and more cookies, but not oxydized in character. Diluted liqueur. Dull finish, beer seems dead, light to medium bodied. What’s the opposite of exciting? Still, the nose wasn’t bad, but where is the wheat?
