Poured from the tap. Hoppy aroma and taste, but lacks the hit and finish of an excellent hoppy beer.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a clear copper with a small beige head. Aroma is a bit metallic, with copper, stale malts and little if any hop character. Flavour is very metallic, in the sense of the cask seeming off. Definitely something wrong with this. I'll revisit this if I get ten opportunity but this is pretty poor.

Why do I have a feeling this beer is going to be a piece of shit? I had a bad feeling as soon as I picked it up off the shelf. Bomber bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours hazy cantalolupe with a medium cream-colored head that collapses into a blanket of foam after a minute or so, leaving some decent lace. Aroma is similar to rancid meat. Taste is sweet and spicy with a bitter finish. Very strrrraaaannnge. Has a hint of that Duvel character the brewers were undoubtably going for, but a hint is just a hint. They either needed to make a reasonably acceptable clone, go above and beyond Duvel, or make a successful experiment based on the Duvel recipe. This does none of the above.

Bottle: Poured a black with a carbonated light brown head that was fast dissipating. Light hints of chocolate and some grass. Taste is a mess with sour grain, burnt roasted malts if that makes sense and some bitter chocolate.

Bottle pours black with a thin fizzy short lived head. Roasted aroma and flavor. Fairly ligh bodied and a little sweet for the style. Nice but not too interesting.
