(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, reddish amber with a handsome, dense shaving foam style, off-white head. Extremely fresh and piney nose. Medium body with lightly sweet caramel but otherwise completely dominated by the fresh Columbus hops also leaving a solid bitterness. A bit soapy perhaps, but still great. 080707

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Clear, golden beer with an off-white head. Caramel-sweet nose with fresh and dried fruits. Caramel-sweet flavor as well, with a little spiced note and some hops. Didn’t sense the flowers in it. Smooth mouthfeel. Very quaffable, but nothing special to it. (070512)

Bottle at Københavnske Øldage. Served with creme brulee. Unclear, dark copper, with a minimal beige head. Lovely nose with sweet, dried fruits and some tobacco. Sweet flavor with dried fruits, alcohol, sugar and a little spicyness. A bit too much co2 for a barley wine I think, yet it feels quite smooth in the mouth. Not the most typical barley wine I think, but it went very well with the creme brulee. (070512)
