Clear pale gold with very big bubbles, pearling lively to very white head, gone in secs. Nose smells of dishwashing liquid with lemon, bit dusty. Faint lemony flavour, with a hint of vegetable, and a lot of sweetness underneath. Very fizzy, lemony is not sharp, but a bit aggressive because of the absolute lack of anything else. Very watery, and that’s putting it mildly. Our soft drinks generation might like it. Under 14, I estimate.

A bronze colored beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is malty and hoppy with notes of hay and hints of sourness. The flavor is very sweet and very hoppy with notes of caramel and grass and again hints of sourness.

I don’t like malt liquors, but for a malt liquor, this is one of the better ones. However, it’s still crap and a disgrace for beer.

Crystal clear golden coloured body with a thin unattractive off-white head. Aroma of skunk (strong), malt, stale hops and bad cardboard. Light-bodied; Skunky flavour with odd sweetness and little else worth mentioning. Overall, this one was pretty bad, not worth trying..but I got it as a gift, so I figured I’d sample it! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased at World Market in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 12-December-2004.

An orange beer with a disappearing white head. The aroma is sour malty, because of the lack of alcohol. While the flavor is malty with notes of straw combined with a watery thin body.

A dark yellow beer with a fine white head. The aroma is dominated by alcohol, but also malt is present. The flavor is extremely strong and sweet with lots of alcohol and notes of peaches. Not my type of beer, but for the style I think this is a good interpretation.

Bottle: Poured a golden colored beer with a small bubbly white head with very little retention. Carbonation is quite low which is not what I would expect from a Premium Lager. Aroma is quite weak with maybe some malt in the background. Taste is also quite weak with some skunky taste at the end instead of dryness. Overall lack of crispness with funky taste at the end, not one I will be seeking again anytime soon.

This lager pours a clear medium, yellow colour wtih a quick head. This one must have been sitting in the LCBO under those flour lights too long. Stinks like a skunks ass. Behind that I might get a little grass and hops. First taste was not too bad with a not too overpowering taste but strong in the grass/hop dept. Not bitter but really grassy. Similar to a Stella. The finish is grass and the palate is too. I don’t think I could drink too many of these but 1-2 are pretty good.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a huge off-white bubbly head with good retention (even leaves mark after each sip on my glass which is quite good for macro-type beer. Aroma is only about malt, but it’s so weak that I would qualify this as neutral aroma. Taste is mildly refreshing with again malt being the only thing really noticeable. Overall lack of character does not make this beer very interesting.

0.45cl Bottle - Tak Jacob Light fruity and roasted malt aroma. Chestnut color, low off-white creamy head, low carbonation. Subdued malt and nutty notes, just enough fruity flavors not to confuse it with a (boring) dunkel - then again I might have thought that if it hadn’t been for the description at the top of the page. Mellow soft mouthfeel, slight orangepeel ,metallic hop and nut aftertaste. Not very inspiring.
