Bottle. Dark brown pour, small head. Nice aroma of vanilla, raisin, ripe fruit and malt. Taste has smooth bourbony vanilla, ripe fruit, cinnammon, brown malt, nuts and some booze in the finish. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours cloudy chestnut, large puffy beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is grapes and stale coffee, dark sugars. Flavor is medium sweet, odd, lots of coffee, grapes. Medium body.

Bottle - Sweet herbal notes and lime. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Light bright lemon, candy and sweet herbal lime notes.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy dirty yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out floral notes, a little coriander and some subtle citrus. Flavour is bright and fresh, with floral notes, coriander and a citrusy wheat. Dry and clean, but nothing too remarkable or interesting.

Black brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of vanilla, caramel, cacao, wood, light bourbon, spicy notes. Sweet flavour, caramel, malts, wood and red wine. Malty finish, caramel, wood, vanilla and bourbon. Nice and balanced.

375 ml. bottle purchased @ De Hopduvel. Shared with people @ Gents Bierfestival 2015. BBF 03/12/18. Dark brown, creamy thick mocha head. Nose is sweet caramel malts, base beer is still quite evident, dark malts, touch dark fruits blended a bit, touch separate with oak, basic bourbon sweetness, oak a bit heavier than the bourbon, sugar. Light touch of iron in the taste, sweet brown sugar, caramel, touch candy, sweet malt, plenty of oak, touch very ripe banana, creamy, toffee, touch vanilla. Lower carb. Rich but not as rich as I expected. Very solid but I hoped a bit more barrel. Good beer but I remember preferring the Makers Mark version a bit more. Still very solid & nice work.

Another barrel aged version in this series (and very surprised I am the first?)... Courtesy of 77ships. Creamy, stable, off-white head over a deep, hazy bronze beer. Aroma has all the basics of the Préaris Quadrupel, banana, brown sugar, ripe peach, dates, brown sugar, adorned with a sauce of woody tannins and bourbon - balance has been achieved. Same for the taste, where the basic qualities of the quad come to full glory, while the Jack Daniels (a drink I sincerely detest in pure form) provides woodiness, drought, depth and an additional alcohol warmth. Way better than that Ardbeg version I had yesterday, but I guess this is a matter of personal taste to begin with, and this series would prove truly interesting if all versions are tasted side by side...
