Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. A bit unclear yellow to orange color, full sized white head that lasts for a long time and leaves fair lacing. Aroma is malts, the slightest touch of citrus, lightly hops. Taste malts, bitter hops, nicely bitter. Decent, suitable body and carbonation. Quite nice.

Tap at the Brouwcafe, Schevenigen. Poured a slightly hazy light amber with a frothy white head and some broken lace. The aroma is hoppy citrus. The flavour is medium to light bitter with a smooth spicy hop bitter fruit palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not really a biter for me. A great beer though and so non-Dutch!

Bottle 37,5 cl. Pours a clear, dark amber with a dense, off-white head. Lovely caramellish and nutty aroma - burnt sugars. Rich body, tons of caramel, again nuts with a rather woody edge before a dry and bitter finish with quite some alcohol. Solid and rustic. 080614

From notes. Nose is brown sugar, leading to treacle and smoked apple. Taste follows but the sweetness is too pronounced.

Bit like a double stout. Has a body of roasted malt, but lacks the aggresiveness of a IS. Sort of like an IS for starters.

37.5cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark brown colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of lots of oak, vanilla, dark fruits, cherries, raisins, chocolate. Flavour is dark fruits, malty, chocolate, vanilla, some wood, oak, almost bourbon BA-like, light-bitter finish. Medium-bodied. A bit fizzy. Nice.
