Far Yeast Night Watch Project Strawberry Chocolate Cake Belgian Hazy IPA 8% Not all that hazy and in zero ways evocative of an IPA. Visually gold with dense off-white foam which was kind of odd to me due to the word chocolate in the name. The aroma has a weird metallic artificial strawberry thing going on, some hints of chocolate but just fake. Medium bodied and pretty smooth with that artificial edge to the strawberry chocolate cranked up from the aroma. The ABV is well hidden but for me this is a big miss.

I’ve realized that I stocked up on Christmas beers but haven’t drunk them much so I’m now almost at the point of doing 7 days of Beermas! Far Yeast Night Watch Project Merry Christmas Belgian Hazy IPA 8% Night Watch is Far Yeast’s chasing the trends sub-brand to the best of my knowledge- Beer Geek type beers. I thought this was going to be a juicy IPA so when I cracked the can and got a blast of a Christmasy aroma I was surprised. Cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom are used to make the brew and a big part of the flavor but just below overboard. Medium bodied and also made with oats so it is a bit of a Christmas cake type brew. I don’t see anything ipa like from this but is a nice Christmas beer, smooth.

Tap at Craft House. Hazy gold. Grat nose, juniper berries, gin, funky brett, saison barnyard, lemon. Flavor is over the top gin and juniper, lemon, bretty funk. Just way too sharp. Needs to be blended with tonic water.

Translucent Golden color. Thin white head. Nice sour, tart, modestly oaky nose with a citrusy punch. Modestly tart, medium carbonation, modestly bitter and citrusy with oak finishing things off at the end. Fairly refreshing and nicely made. Enjoyable.

33cl bottle from Alko Arkadia, Helsinki. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Fruity, almost soapy or perfumy aroma dominated by yuzu and followed by notes of lemon grass and hints of coriander and wheat. Strange and borderline unpleasant, but still somewhat enjoyable and refreshing. Aroma is a bit too intense otherwise it's a quite nice and balanced brew.

Bottle. Nose is lactic acid, caramel, vanilla, berries, lemon. Hazy amber-orange with lace. Tart but not very sour, caramel, wood, vanilla, white wine, lemon, leather, berries in the flavor. quite complex. Light, not sweet, with a dry finish that is also bitter with oak tannins and leat tea. Low carbonations. Quite interesting and good.
