Description
six°north was established in 2013. The concept was born in Belgium when founder Robert Lindsay fell in love with the country’s beer culture and tradition. He soon returned to north east Scotland to start brewing his own beers, six°north of Brussels. We make modern, artisanal beers that are driven by Belgian brewing tradition and inspired by modern brewing practices.

Our beers are unfiltered and carbonated naturally through secondary fermentation. We brew classic Belgian inspired beers, as well as modern, hop-forward styles. We also release a number of collaboration beers each year with other breweries.

330ml bottle from Beerdock, Crewe. Pours hazy blond with medium white head. Spicy, sweet citrus with lots of fruity grapefruit and an accompanying bitter finish. Not massively into this but it’s alright.

Tap East Collaboration Fest. Keg. Lightly hazy pale gold beer. Spotty thin white head. Palate is light and very crisp, semi dry. Light nutty pale malts. Floral tones. Zingy grapefruit with mild pith. Little hop spice. Light dry crisp finish. Nice.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Very pale hazy yellow pour, thin white head. Belgian yeast notes, light spice, bread, light fruit. Taste is light bitter, more sherbet and lemon though. Easy drinking, but not getting the IPA vibe.

Bottle at beer dudes meeting at Appellation Wines Comely Bank thanks to James Tulloch. Appearance - hazy lemon with a good head. Nose - mostly malt and lemon. Taste - tangy lemon and barley. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - another beer which is synergical. Great balance.

Keg at the Tap East Open Brewhouse Fest 2014 - London. Pours clear yellow, efferveacent, with a creamy white head. Dry pale malt nose with dry lemon peel, biscuits, some slight Belgian yeast. Light sweet flavor with lovely dry doughy biscuit character, slight bitter straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Crisp, dry and clean on the finish with some fuether biscuits, dry dough, hay, lemon peel, background Belgian yeast expressions. Outstanding. I really love this kind of crisp, understated Belgian ale.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with a thick, lasting white head. Lively carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, mandarin and yeast. Zippy flavour of bitter lemon, coriander, lime zest, sparkling water and a hint of mint. Thin body with a spritzy mouthfeel. The best looking Six Degrees North beer I’ve had to date, and tastiest too. Wonderful stuff.

Keg at The Hanging Bat. Pours cloudy yellow, no real head. Looks unappealing to be honest! Aromas of Belgian yeast, lemon citrus, bready. Taste is more of the same. Tastes better than it looks! Slightly thin on the finish. Good.
