Description
six°north was established in 2013. The concept was born in Belgium when founder Robert Lindsay fell in love with the country’s beer culture and tradition. He soon returned to north east Scotland to start brewing his own beers, six°north of Brussels. We make modern, artisanal beers that are driven by Belgian brewing tradition and inspired by modern brewing practices.

Our beers are unfiltered and carbonated naturally through secondary fermentation. We brew classic Belgian inspired beers, as well as modern, hop-forward styles. We also release a number of collaboration beers each year with other breweries.

Keg at Hanging Bat. Hazy pale golden body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Great lacing. Aroma of chalk, lemon and yeast. Flavour of lemon, wheat and grapefruit. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. A tasty, refreshing beer. I’m not sure if it’s an IPA but it’s certainly better than their 4.8% ABV Wanderlust Wheat (is this just a stronger version of it?)

Bottle from Tomlinson’s, via Colin! It pours hazy pale gold with a medium fluffy white head. The nose is doughy, peppery, hay, spice, banana and sweet citrus. The taste is smooth, doughy, grass, spice, crisp bitterness, light alcohol, pepper and grapefruit rind with a dry, biter finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Nice level of bitterness. A solid Belgian ale. Original rate was 3.4 Update: July 2016. I have had this multiple times on draught now. Seems to improved quite a bit. Fresh, dry and very moreish.
