Tasting at Matt’s
Unclear dark brown with medium sized head. Some aroma of candi sugar. Good body; dark malts, with a earthy side, moderate residual sweetness, and final warming alcohol.
Nice beer, solid.

Bottle - Sweet raisin and fruity notes. Murky brown with a light brown head. Lots of fruity raisin, sweet barrel notes and a long finish. Better than expected.

500mL bottle, pours a murky opaque dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, some brown sugar, a little caramel, and a bready malt. Flavour is very complex, with notes of brown sugar, red wine barrels, Belgian yeast, oak and some bready malt. Surprisingly cohesive and complex. About as good as I could've hoped for an Ontarian BA dubbel. Really nice.

Draft - Light sweat, hay and lemony funk. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Funky stone fruit, light wood, little yogurt and a dry finish. Very funky and cool.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours cloudy amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with estery and caramellish notes and gentle touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with notes of fruit and hops. Vinous touches, especially towards the bitter finish. Warming alcohol presence. Decent, especially for the non-native style.
