New Release in the can, though unpasteurized. the best hops from any mainstream Japanese brewer. A big surprise. Good saaz aroma and flavor, long-lasting bitter finish. Very nice summer thirst quencher with a lot of character. Malts are simple but sufficient. I hope Sapporo has turned around from "dumbing down" to "hopping up."

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a pale straw color with a small white head that faded quickly. The aroma was faintly dry. The flavor was dryish, grainy, lightly tangy and corny. The finish was very short. Inoffensive but nothing substantive to it.

Pours with a largish, foamy, off-white head covering a deep yellow body. Aroma is a bit of wheat and maybe a little corn, with a fruity note at the end. Ultra thin mouthfeel. A little bit spicy and metallicy. There is also an odd apple taste to the beer. Interesting Japanese lager.

Bottle from Berkeley Bowl. Light, malty aroma with a touch of hop. Golden color with decent white head that even laces in tatters. Near medium body with moderate carbonation. The flavor is spicey! Must be really good noble type hop. Very impressive. Finish is dry and decently bitter. Quite smooth. Amazingly good.

Can, shared by Gr0ve. A dark brown, almost black beer with a tan head. Mocha, coffee and chocolate in the aroma. Mocha, some fruityness, chocolate and coffee, but not much hoppy bitterness. Not much fruityness or bitterness at all, actually. Still pleasant, indeed. Medium to full, quite dry mouthfeel. Mocha finish. A really pleasant and balanced beer. A bit strange saying it’s balanced, as it’s sure on the dark side, but at least it feels balanced in a way. Cute! (080216)

Single bottle from Total Wine. Light corny aroma with a slight noble hop lilt. Pale golden color with a white head that flattened fast. Near medium body with creamy fizzy carbonation. The flavor is not corny, rather light noble hop and light pale malt. Finish is much the same, but has a very slight herb/grass note. The bitter is better than many macros.

Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance. Typical lager flavors with some citrus. Above average enjoyable carbonation. Some hay in the aroma. Pretty much as described except for the ’most advanced evolution of light beer’. Not offensive. Cannot detect much alky, if any.

(Can 50 cl) Courtesy of nicolascage. Clear, reddish brown with a dense, light brown head. Lightly burned, malty aroma. Light in body with sweet accents of hard roasted malts that also leave some malt astringency. 191207
