Drank from the can on the last Keihan train. This is a fresh 3rd category beer that contains malt and added spirits, plus some kind of hop flavoring, I suppose. Nice fresh citrus and noble hop aroma. Flavor is very citrusy and hoppy but a bit fake and soda like. Hops come through, though. Sweet and not really malty at all. sprizy, but not too much. Ok bitterness. Best 3rd category yet. Drinkable and hoppy, though somewhat fake tasting.

0,33 l. bottle in a thai-restaurant. Sweet aroma, with no hops present. Yellow color with a white head. Sweet, light taste, with a bit corn, and rice taste, very little flavor, a touch of hops. Fairly carbonated, and light feel. Nothing special, but the food was good!

Slightly cloudy (not really much) golden coloured body with some honey tints trying to come out, all with a nice dense off-white head - looks better than most pales. Aroma of malt, rice, cardboard, vinegar and a very faint note of metal. Light-bodied; Slightly bready, malty note up front with a good complex malt flavour - way more so than typical beers of this style, with a lingering sweetness at the end (caster sugar) and some slight twangs of metal. Aftertaste shows some class for the style and a little bit of good complexities, but nothing enticing or drawing you back. Overall, a pretty typical beer, but given this style for this one, it’s better than most, but that isn’t saying much at all. I figured it would be somewhat hoppy due to the name, but there isn’t anything hoppy about this at all. I sampled this 33 cL? can purchased from CitySuper! Grocery Store at 2 IFC, Central, Hong Kong on 10-August-2010 sampled at home on the other side of the world at home in Washington on 05-April-2011.

Can on Delta 278. Canadian brewed. Fruity, sweet, grainy aroma. Fake. Flavor of Sprite, sweet and fruity, and not very beer like at all. Not vile, but really like a shandy. Much worse than the Nama Kuro label in Japan.

Deep caramel coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of strong malt, with some metal mixed in. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malt flavour, not much else in the taste, but quite bitter. Aftertaste is strong as well, no sweetness nor hops, just maltiness and bitter flavours. Overall, not horrible, just not great. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased at a local Isakaya in Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan on 03-August-2010.

Can: Golden, almost clear, small - slowly collapsing - fluffy head; strong metallic traces in the bitter-grainy/strawy nose, accompanied ba a light acidity; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; short bitter-sweet finish followed by a light tartness. Yuk, deserves a call-back campaign.....
