Draft at Bottleworks. Straw hazy color. It’s generally funky and not sweet. That is good. But it’s more peach than apple. And the peach is a bit plasticy. Wait, is there even apple in here? I wish I had more apple.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads brett and tart peaches - very complex. Flavour is complex as hell, with tons of brett, tart juicy peaches and light citrus. Funky and juicy, with perfect sourness. Phenomenal.

Draft 8 oz pour at Hi Fi. Clear light golden pour with no head. Rating #1997. The same year my youngest brother was born. Spends his days now serving in the Air Force now, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. I’ll dedicate a rating to him, since it’s the absolute least I can do. Hope to come to Germany and visit you soon bud. And drink good beer while I’m there. You will turn 21 while you are there, and your first beer is on me. As for the cider, soft apple and sweet mixed fruit aroma. Flavor is candy sweet. Sugary pear and apple. Mostly clean finish, with a candy linger. Overall a good cuder, but a bit on the sweet side.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry apples, Belgian yeast and a little champagne. Flavour is very dry and along the same lines, with Belgian yeast, dry green apples, and a touch of funk. Not overly complex, but it works well. Nice stuff.

Pours a very nice red. The rose-hips are quite strong and a bit overpowering. Nice cranberry notes. Very perfumy. Sweet with a tart and dry finish. Decent. Hard to drink more than a few sips.

Tasting at Matt’s
Pale yellow color. Nice delicate aroma of flowers and orange peel. Semi-dry, moderately carbonated; simple flavor, with a hint of elderflowers, and light acidity.

Draft - Berry, cranberry notes and sweetness. Clear pink red. Sweet, tart, light acidity and a cranberry finish. Nice, but the barrel didn’t seem to do much for me.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe for Big Wood 2015, pours a hazy cherry amber red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a good mix of wood, dark fruits and apple acidity. Flavour is super fresh and bright, with tons of fruity black currant, a touch of oak and some apple core. Great job with the barrel aging; it's not overly prominent, but it accentuates the base beer just enough. Excellent.

375 ml. bottle from Star Grocery. It pours a dark purple color with some fizz, but no head. The aroma is vinous with lots of dark berries and a low to moderate amount of acetic acid that recalls balsamic vinegar. Not really any apple to speak of. The flavor has a good balance of apple sweetness, balsamic vinegar and some berry notes. Light oak. I really like the play between the apples and berries which have a good combination of sweet and sour flavors, but ultimately there’s a bit too much acetic acid and the body is too thin to support it. A very interesting cider, but just a tad on the harsh side of things.
