Black with a somewhat fizzy dark tan head. Molasses, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, earthy. Finish has some sweet alcohol and roasted notes. Much thinner body than expected- I’d say medium to medium-thin. This does not live up to the Speedway Stout name.

(This is the entry I chose for my rating of the 2025 edition. My can also says 13.46% abv)

A bit cloudy yellow colour, small white head. Pine, grapefruity aroma. Light-bodied. Piney, fruity flavour, pale malts. Old school vibes. Decent.

Canned 06/10/2025. Hazy yellow colour, steady white head and lace. Aroma has peach and papaya and is a bit bready too. Medium-bodied. Sweetish fruity peach-papaya flavour with dill, low bitterness. Can claims mango and pineapple but I get some other fruits.

A solid, well-laced white head on an unfiltered orange-amber body. The nose pops with fresh elements - rich caramel, citrus fruit and zest, and tropical fruit notes. A beautifully balanced DIPA. Tropical notes of kiwi, melon, and passion fruit; grapes, tangerine, and lemon are backed up by sweet caramel malt. All elements are very fresh. A solid DIPA richness and depth, but no overpowering alcohol burn. Top shelf!

On tap at Torst, Brooklyn. Just that little extra to put the Speedway Stout over the top. The nose has the regular elements of chocolate, fresh coffee and touch of vanilla, augmented by coriander and a splash of sweet chili. The taste blends all these with discernible notes of coconut, ginger, fennel and a touch of cream. A real treat.
